The neighborhood of Society Hill stands divided from the rest of Jersey City by Route 440. Over the Hill is a proposed shuttle service dedicated to finding residents a safe connection to the city.
This project is connected to Off Route, a documentation of the problems Over the Hill seeks to fix.
Project Description
Prompted by a search for issues specific and unique to Society Hill in Jersey City, location and isolation became evident themes in the lives of residents. Caused by the separation of the community by Route 440, the neighborhood lives in a state of disconnect.
The proposed solution is a shuttle system unique to Society Hill residents and their commutes. The system is focused on getting people where they need to be, safely and efficiently.
